Meet Our Team
👩⚕ Jo Thomas
Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Head of Occupational Therapy
Founder, Sensory Kids UAE
Jo is a paediatric OT with over 26 years of experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and a wide range of developmental needs. Originally trained in the UK in 1999, Jo has worked across early intervention, child development centres, and school-based therapy services in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, and now the UAE.
As a mother of four boys — now teenagers and young adults — Jo brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She has walked the neurodiverse journey herself, navigating early diagnosis, schooling, and family life with compassion and creativity.
In her role as Head of Occupational Therapy, Jo is deeply passionate about making sensory regulation practical, playful, and accessible for families, schools, and therapy teams. Whether she’s designing a visual schedule or co-developing a new calming kit, Jo brings empathy, strategy, and sparkle to every solution.
